Devin Machado and Kekoa Umalla filled in the top two slots of the “D” division of the Mens Singles with Mikey Prem topping the consolation bracket.
Ryan Domingsel prevailed in the “B” class with second and the consolation going to Marshall Mamac and Javier Alvarez, respectively.
Noland Magbaleta and Tom McCloskey were one and two in the “A” class with Joey Corcino filling in the consolation.
Leroy Woods and Galahad Carreira were first and second in the “C” class with Kaua‘i player Mikel Moranz taking the consolation.
Kaua‘i players swept the “C” class of the Women’s Singles division as Tiffany Eliana and Desiree Prem were first and second in the “C” class of that division with Natasha Machado taking consolation.
Tani Rodrigues and Dee Defries were consolation winners of the “B” and “A” class, respectively.
In those classes, Carrie Weatherwax and Sayrah Garrison were one and two in the “B” group while Sara Houghtailing and Michelle Luke filled in the top two slots of the “A” class.
Janet Scheffer and Cindy Asato topped the Open class with Mimi Greene topping the consolation for that group.
The Kaua‘i team of Ryan Perreira and Daniel Higashi edged out another Kaua‘i team of Richie Taito and Ryan Domingsel to fill the top two berths in the “B/C” class of the Mens Doubles. Leroy Woods teamed with Anthony Miyamoto to take the consolation of that group.
In the “Open/A” class, Sam Doctorello and Bob Meinikoff were relegated to second place by the team of Vince Camacho and Ron Camara with Noland Magbaleta and Marshall Mamac teaming for the consolation.
Kaua‘i women doubles were able to secure the second and consolation slots of the “B/C” class of the Women’s Doubles division.
Those teams included Lauri Puni teaming with Tani Rodrigues for the second place honor and Sayrah Garrison teaming with Dee Defries for the consolation slot.
Keri Loo teamed with Terry Malterre for the top slot of the “B/C” class.
Mimi Greene teamed with Sara Houghtailing and Cindy Asato teamed with Marian Collins for the top two slots of the “Open/A” class. Michelle Luke and Janet Scheffer secured the consolation berth.
Kaua‘i players controlled the Juniors Doubles division as Andrew Conti teamed with Mikel Moranz for top honors in that class followed by the team of Kawailaniolapua Carreira and Tiffany Eliana.
Juniors Singles was taken by Conti, Moranz and Tiffany Eliana filling in first through third places, respectively, while Carreira captured the consolation.
The team of Andrew and Joe Conti topped the special Junior “Ohana” Doubles event with Kaua‘i players Tiffany and Philip Eliana getting second and the team of Mikel and Joe Moranz taking the consolation.
In the Mixed Doubles, Kaua‘i players Marshall Mamac and Dee Defries were able to secure the second place in the “B/C” class, being edged out by the team of John Fujiwara and Janet Scheffer. John Lalatoa teamed with Jayme Peterson for the consolation in that bracket.
The team of Vince Camacho and Michelle Luke topped the “Open/A” class of the Mixed Doubles division with Tom McCloskey and Mimi Greene taking second place honors. Lloyd Waialae and Marian Collins were consolation winners.
Vince Camacho teamed with Ron Camara to take the top berth of the Masters 45+ Doubles division over the Kaua‘i team of Mikel Faulkner and Philip Eliana.
Waialae and Collins teamed for the consolation.
The Garden Island Classic featured three days of play at the KAC, attracting players from around the state as well as California and Texas.
Players competed in seven division and 19 events.
