Katsue Tabuchi
Katsue “Katsy” Tabuchi of Koloa went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2008, at the age of 88. She was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Koloa.
She is survived by her daughter Lauren (Gene) Brennan; son Les (Candace) Tabuchi; four grandchildren; brother Sam (Sue) Oi; sisters Iris Sumida, Ann (Owen) Philips, Elaine Kaneshiro, Doris Kashiwai and Norma Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews and caregiver Diane Cooke.
A celebration of her life will be held with visitation at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at Koloa Missionary Church; service begins at 4 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Andrew Napolis
Andrew Kahiwalani Napolis of Honolulu died on March 19, 2008, at home at the age of 78. He was born on Sept. 1, 1929, on Kaua‘i.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wenonah Kekahuna Napolis; sons Anthony and Paul Napolis; daughters Cynthia Bumatay, Lorraine (Roscoe) Nishida, Theresa (Talbert) Tacbian, Sandra (David) Anderson, Veronica Naito; brother Vincent “Sonny” Napolis; sisters Elizabeth “Ah Lin” Biernat and Mary “Nani” Allison; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Nora Tada
Nora Shizuro Tada of Lihu‘e died on April 2, 2008, at her home in Lihu‘e at the age of 87. Born on April 17, 1920, in Lihu‘e, she was a hairdresser.
She is survived by her son, Alan Tada, of Lihu‘e; daughter Patricia Yamaughi of O‘ahu; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Flora Cox of Lihu‘e and Helen Okamoto of Utah.
Viewing will be held at noon on Sunday, April 6, at Lihu‘e Christian Church. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested. Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Asako Shibata
Asako “Asa” Shibata of Lihu‘e died on April 3, 2008, at her home in Lihu‘e at the age of 84. Born on Oct. 18, 1923, in California, she was a bookkeeper.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Shibata, of Lihu‘e; daughter Janis (Garth) Shibata-Rodrigues of California; sister Ihoko (Frank) Fukuhara of California; and grandson Wesley Rodrigues of California.
Memorial services will be celebrated at noon on Friday, April 11, at Kapaa All Saints Church. Casual attire is suggested. Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
