Helen Waioleka Kanahele
Helen Waioleka Kanahele of Ni‘iahu passed away at Straub Clinic and Hospital. Born on May 28, 1951 in Puuwai, Ni‘ihau, she was a housewife.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley “Kaohu” Kanahele Sr. of Ni‘ihau; children Nani Gene Demotta, Samson Sutton, Gwendolyn Kanahele, Stanley Jr., all of Kaua‘i, Susan Kanahele and Jessica Kanahele of Ni‘ihau; hanai daughter Tayzhany Kanahele of Ni‘ihau; 10 grandchildren; brothers Henry Kanahele and Joseph Kanahele, both of Kaua‘i; and sister Beatrice Shaw of Michigan.
A funeral service will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; burial will be held on Ni‘ihau.
Arrangements are being handled by Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary and Garden Island Mortuary.
Sueko T. Kaneshiro
Sueko T. Kaneshiro of Torrance, Calif., died on Feb. 17, 2008, in Torrance at the age of 89. She was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Hanama‘ulu.
She is survived by daughters Naomi (Glen) Terui, Lynn (Pat) Kaneshiro and Debby (Larry) Miyake; son Bruce Kaneshiro; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.
