Multiple organizations will host a clean-up of Po‘ipu in front of the Sheraton Kauai Resort from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 16.
Volunteers will remove rubbish from the beach and water.
Residents and visitors are invited to join the group between Koloa Landing and Waiohai. Trash bags, gloves, coffee and pastries will be provided. Sacred Seas Scuba will provide scuba gear for certified divers.
“Valentine’s South Side Beach Clean-up” was organized by the Sheraton, Surfrider Foundation, Malama Na ‘Apapa and Sacred Seas Scuba.
Surfrider Foundation is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the world’s oceans and beaches through research, activism, and education. Sacred Seas Scuba provides a full-service dive center offering adventures and rentals as well as certification courses. Malama Na ‘Apapa works to preserve, sustain and restore valuable coral reef ecosystems on Kaua‘i.
