Jordon Dizon got his truck! Officer Darla Abbatiello, who was leaving Wednesday night for Jordon’s senior game this morning, said most of the stuff she was taking was for Jordon since Shirley Parraga and her family were at the airport to see her off. She said Jordon picked up a Grand Cherokee the same day she was leaving. So, hopefully, Michael Ishibashi will be taking more pictures of Jordon at the senior game so when the Butkus awards get announced, he’ll have some stuff in for all of us to see.
Hope Mayor Bryan Baptiste had a chance for a nice rest over Thanksgiving. He just came out of the hospital, Wednesday, in time to make the 2 p.m. dedication for Mana‘olana housing by KEO. Scott Giarman was busy serving lunch at the Salvation Army, but made it to the dedication as did Roland Sagum who came all the way from the Hanapepe Corps, along with J Robertson who did the emcee-ing in Hanapepe. J said there was an overflow crowd in Hanapepe this year, with people having to eat on the porch.
Thomas Mikasobe III was at the Kaua‘i Food Bank for pickups before the Mana‘olana dedication and got to see Teddy Arroyo contribute his holiday offering to the food bank. Teddy said he would like to challenge all the other contractors to help the community help others.
This is something he learned from playing under coaches Tommy Rita (he’s next to Raven Woods’ grandma Gwen) and Pat Pereira, and is doing this as an example for his three sons to continue.
Without the community, we are nothing, he said.
