Pickin‘ in the Park at Hanalei Pavilion this Sunday
Kaua‘i pickers, unite. The Happy Enchalata, Kaua‘i‘s own bluegrass band, is hosting its quarterly jam session. All acoustic musicians are welcome to join in. The autumn jam will be at the Hanalei Pavilion (overlooking Hanalei Bay) from 2 to 10 p.m. Attendance is free, and open to all participants and spectators. Bring something yummy to share with the group — it’s a potluck with BBQ grills and the works.
“The jam sessions change locations each quarter, so that all island participants and visitors have an opportunity to come and play. We switch between Salt Pond in Hanapepe and Lydgate Park in Kapa‘a,” said Denice Sheffer, backup singer for the Happy Enchalatas. Sheffer uploaded some video from the jams to YouTube so check it out. The key word is, Enchalata.
Calling all singers, dancers and actors—Westside Story Players start their fall semester

Auditions will be held next month for all roles. More fun is planned for the holiday season, with their second annual holiday vaudeville comedy in the works. Please call director Kathie Waldman for more information and class times, 337-2014.
