Rainbow Wahine take first road trip of season
HONOLULU — The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine soccer team (5-0-1) puts its undefeated record on the line when it plays a pair of road matches in Southern California this week.
After starting the season with six-straight home matches, the Rainbow Wahine face a stiff road test with matches at Cal State Northridge (Sept. 21) and No. 7 UCLA (Sept. 23).
UH is off to its best start in nine years and will look to better the 1998 squad’s 6-0 start in this week’s action.
Hawai‘i received three votes in the latest NSCAA Top 25 Poll. Hawaii also made its third-straight appearance in the Soccer Buzz West Region Poll (Sept. 17). Despite going 2-0 this past weekend, UH dropped one spot to No. 15.
The Rainbow Wahine will be playing their second ranked squad of the season when they face No. 7 UCLA on Sunday.
