WAIMEA — Kanani Dreier finished with a game-high 13 points to lead the Kaua‘i High School JV girls to its third straight win Tuesday night.
Dreier got help from Janessa Grady and Randee Layosa who both finished with 8 points in the 41-22 win.
Kaua‘i got a slow start on this outing, being limited to just a first-period bucket from Grady while Waimea ended on a 4-2 note on field goals from Sera Pascual and left-handed shooter Arlene Valmoja.
But the Raiders erupted for a 16-5 second quarter behind 6 points from Dreier and 4 points each from Jaimee Manano and Layosa, Manano drilling one from outside the three-point arc.
Waimea answered that call as Kori Sakamoto also shredded the twine from outside the arc, but that effort fell short as Kaua‘i took an 18-9 advantage into the locker rooms.
Kaua‘i blazed on to a 23-13 second half en route to the victory.
Following the Raider scoring leaders, Manano and Christina Banach finished with 4 points each, with pairs from Jori-Anne Jasper and Rachel Hamamura rounding out the win.
Sakamoto topped the Junior Menehune with 11 points followed by Valmoja adding 5 points. Pascual finished with 4 points and a pair from Joanna Andres rounded out the effort.
Kaua‘i hosts the Kapa‘a Warriors Friday night with the JV contest tipping off at 5:30 p.m.
