HHSAA announces 2007 Hall of Honor guidelines

The Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association announced it is accepting scholarship nominations for the high school Hall of Honor.

The deadline for Kaua‘i athletes is Wednesday, May 2 by 5 p.m.

Students in the state of Hawai‘i who are participating in any sport approved by the HHSAA, and who are completing their senior year of high school, are eligible for consideration.

Athletic achievement is given primary consideration by the selection committee. Only selection committee members may present nominations at committee meetings. However, coaches, athletic directors, other school personnel, or anyone else in a position to recognize outstanding high school athletes may submit completed nomination forms to the assigned selection committee member for consideration.

Only official HHSAA Hall of Honor Nomination forms will be accepted. Supporting materials may accompany the nomination form and may include media clippings, statements, letters of reference, or grade transcripts. Supporting material is limited to eight, one-sided 8-1/2 inch by 11-inch sheets. Additional material submitted will not be considered. Applications and materials may not be submitted via facsimile transmission or by e-mail.

Send Kaua‘i nomination forms to Bill Arakaki at Waimea High School, P.O. Box 339, Waimea, HI 96796. Applications can be given to their respective athletic directors at Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, Island, Kula and Waimea high schools, provided the deadline is met.
