Police arrest ‘Anini cop impersonators

Two men who reportedly robbed a camper in ‘Anini Tuesday were arrested yesterday for second-degree robbery and impersonating police officers.

A Kilauea man was arrested at 7:30 a.m. yesterday on Kilauea Road and released pending further investigation.

Sean Garma, 34, of Kapa‘a, was arrested at 12:25 p.m. yesterday at the Kapa‘a ball park. He is being held at the Kaua‘i Police Department’s cellblock in lieu of $5,100 bail.

A camper said he was robbed by the two men after they woke him up around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. Pointing a machete at him, the two men allegedly stole his identification, a camera and a bank card.

Both suspects were arrested without incident.
