Bridge club wrap-up

The Sunrise Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Thursday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 9 a.m.

The club welcomes visitors and part-time vacationers.

Results for the Thursday, March 22, 12-player event:

First: Pat Berg and Rob Van Ekeren; Second place: Charlie Herbert and R.C. Smith.

The ACBL-sanctioned Sunset Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 1 p.m.

This long-established club conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players. For playing partners or information, call Barbara Adair at 826-5115.

Results for the Saturday, March 24, 20-player event: First: Ilse Rothschild and RC Smith; second (tie): Glenda Lewis/Judy Smith and Rob/Gal Van Ekeren.

Members of and visitors to the Poalua and North Shore Duplicate Bridge Clubs play every Thursday at Sun Village behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital at 9 a.m.

This is the oldest bridge club on the island, and visitors are always welcome to play.

Results for the six-table Mitchell movement bridge game on Thursday, March 22, are as follows: North/South — First place: visitors from Minnesota, Doris and Johnny; Second, Pat Burgess and Loukas Fytros.

East/West — Tie for first place between Linda Sanders and Dick Shen, and Jane Nearing Go and Betty Moore.

Members of the Ka Haku o Hawaii Bridge Club play the second and fourth Mondays of every month.

The games start promptly at 9 a.m. and visitors are especially welcome.

Results for the 24 player Howell Movement game on March 12: First, Bill and Betty Carroll Second, Jane Nearing Go and Glenda Lewis.

The club also contributed $150 to Kauai Food Bank to thank Hanalei Bay Resort for hosting a game at the location.
