KOLOA — Sparked by the efforts of Koloa School kindergartner Dodger Middlebrook, 180 students from the school made a big difference for the American Heart Association.
Coinciding with the school’s monthly Student-of-the-Month assembly, Dave Walker of the American Heart Association was a special guest for the school assembly themed after a mini circus.
Walker accepted a check for $3,353, representing the total amount of funds generated by the recent Jump Rope for Heart event which was coordinated through the school’s physical education program.
Middlebrook, as the top fund-raiser, was able to raise $333 for the event.
“This is outstanding,” said Walker.
