College golf returns to Kaua‘i with the 8th Annual Kauai Collegiate Cup golf tournament set to tee off at the Princeville Resort’s Makai Golf Course on March 16 and 17.
Western Kentucky University hosts the tournament.
The 54-hole event has drawn a nine-team field consisting of University of British Columbia, Eastern Illinois University, Hawai‘i Pacific University, Jackson State University, North Dakota State University, Ohio University, Oklahoma Christian University, University of Toronto and Western Kentucky University.
The WKU Hilltoppers are the reigning Sun Belt Conference champions. They are coached by Brian Tirpak and led by senior co-captains Troy Hawkins and Nick Johnston.
Expected to make a serious run at the Kauai Collegiate Cup title are the Oklahoma Christian Eagles, who enter as the nation’s top-ranked National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics golf team.
The Hawai‘i Pacific team is new to the tournament field as they will make their collegiate cup debut.
There will be no tickets sold for this event, as admission is free. Tee times for the opening round will begin approximately at 7:30 a.m. with 36 holes scheduled. The final 18 holes will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17 with the final group scheduled to tee off at 8:50 a.m.
