The Falcons showed a stronger offensive effort, but could not get past a concerted Galaxy defense.
With the win, both the BU12 Falcons, who split their weekend series after dropping 12-0 to the Lihu‘e Cougars Saturday, and the Galaxy are now 1-1-1 in the standings and tied in second place with 4 points.
The Lihu‘e Cougars (3-0-0) hold the lead in the BU12 division with 9 points while the KSC-Na Koa Kaulana (0-2-1) and the Lihu‘e Tornadoes (0-1-1) are tied for third place with a point each.
Kaua‘i Soccer Association commissioner Kevin Devitt was pleased with the play he witnessed Sunday.
“We have 42 teams in this league,” he said. “That’s a lot of soccer and KSA is working to start a camp here so the players can have another venue to hone their skills.”
In another field, the Westside Falcons, Boys Under 10, finished with a 3-0 showing over Tunda to take the lead in that division with a 3-0-0 record for 9 points. The Tunda (2-2-0) are in second place with 6 points followed by the Koloa Thunder (0-3-0) looking for its first win.
Following the weekend series, the Westside Falcons, Boys Under 8 control the BU8 division with an undefeated run and 9 points.
The Ha‘aheo Teenie Wahines, a 5-0 winner over High Maintenance Saturday, lead the GU8 division with 9 points.
The KSC-Blazing Angels and Hawaiian Heat share the lead in the GU10 division with identical 3-0-0 records and 9 points.
Ha‘aheo, with a 6-0 win over the KSC-Northshore Hot Tamales Sunday, takes sole lead in the GU12 division with a 3-0-0 record and 9 points while the Hot Tamales (1-1-1) are in second place with 4 points.
Motiv-8 (3-0-0) leads the BU14, GIFC-Remix (3-0-0) leads the GU14 with 9 points each.
GIFC-East (2-0-0) leads the GU18 division with Meyvn Soccer (2-0-1) holding the lead in the 16/18 division with 6 and 7 points, respectively.
