Bridge club wrap-up

Members of the Ka Haku o Hawaii Bridge Club plaly the second and fourth Mondays of every month at the Hanalei Bay Resort in Princeville at 9 a.m. Members meet for breakfast prior to the game. For playing partners or additional information, call Jane Nearing Go at 826-9753.

Winners for last Monday’s Howell-Movement game were Jane Nearing Go and Glenda Lewis in first and Jerry and Kay Gable in second.

Members of and visitors to the Poalua and North Shore Duplicate Bridge Club play every Thursday at Sun Village behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital at 9 a.m. This is the oldest bridge club on the island, and visitors are always welcome to play. The Sunrise Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Thursday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 9 a.m. The club welcomes visitors and part-time vacationers. For playing partners or information, call Barbara Adair at 826-5115.

Results for Thursday’s 24-player, six-table event are Pat Berg and Lolita Horney in first, Ilse Rothschild and Glenda Lewis in second and Ann and Joe Williams in third.

The ACBL-sanctioned Sunset Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 1 p.m. This long-established club conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players. For playing partners or information, call Barbara Adair at 826-5115.

Results for Saturday’s 36-player, nine-table event are (North/South): Cheryl and Jim Bloom in first; Lou and Jim Hartley in second; Judy and Paul Ratte in third; and (East/West): Francine Donahue and Rob Van Ekeren in first; Ilse Rothschild and R.C. Smith in second.
