Fanny Leilani Medeiros
Fanny Leilani Medeiros of ‘Ele‘ele died Jan. 29, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 77.
Born May 29, 1929, in Hawai‘i, she was an accountant.
Preceded in death by her husband Gabriel Medeiros Jr., she is survived by three sons, Russell Medeiros, Wayne Medeiros and Randall Medeiros; daughter Phyllis Santa Ana; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from noon to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at ‘Ele‘ele Sacred Hearts Church, where Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m.
Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Josefina Visitacion Ariola
Josefina Visitacion Ariola of Puhi and Aiea, O‘ahu, died Jan. 28, 2007, at Queen’s Hospital, at the age of 61.
Born Jan. 4, 1946, in the Philippines, she worked in housekeeping.
She is survived by two daughters, Lani (Reuel “Bruce”) Wong and Pualani Ariola; one granddaughter, Raychelle K. Ariola Balaan; seven brothers, Alejandrino (Flora) Visitacion, Quirino Visitacion, Ernesto (Letty) Visitacion, Oscar Visitacion, Juan Visitacion, Orlando (Cynthia) Visitacion and Nelson Visitacion; one sister, Zeny (Wil) Arengo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, where prayer services will be celebrated at 7 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Francisco Agader
Francisco Saldevar Agader of Hanama‘ulu died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 30, 2007, at the age of 99.
Born in Santa, Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, on Jan. 26, 1908, he retired as a tractor operator from Lihue Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Saiki Agader, and survived by his daughter, Karen Agader Pescador of Lihu‘e; sons Milton (Lavina) of Wai‘alua and Jeffrey (Sandra) Agader of Mililani; grandchildren John (Ivy) Pescador, Lee Anne (Robert) Domingo, Dr. Marie (Tim Chun) Pescador, Dr. Kern (Shawn) Agader, Tammy Agader, Dana (Stanton Oishi) Agader and Derek Agader; great-grandchildren Mari, Mika, Akira, Micah and Emilee; sisters-in-law Asano (Mineichi) Saiki and Fusae Castillo; and nieces and nephews.
The family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
Services will be private. Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the Agader family with arrangements.
Nobuyoshi Tamura
Nobuyoshi “Nobu” Tamura of Kilauea died in Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu, on Jan. 27, 2007, at the age of 91.
He was born in Kilauea on Feb. 25, 1915, was a plumber with Kilauea Sugar Company and retired as a business agent with ILWU. He also served as a Kaua‘i police commissioner, Hawai‘i Housing Authority commissioner, Contractor Licensing Board commissioner and a member of the Kaua‘i County Highway Safety Council.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor Tamura; daughters Avis Tamura and Holly Tamura, both of Honolulu, and Melissa Ebinger of San Diego, Calif.; step-daughters Cris Asuncion of San Diego, Joanne Asuncion of Germany and Faith (Joel) Sugahara of Arizona; step-son Leonard Asuncion of California; brother Tatsuo (Itsuko) Tamura of Kilauea; sisters Michie Yonekura of Honolulu, Masayo Yoshihara of Kapa‘a, Miyako (Shoichi) Takenaka of Kapa‘a and Chieko Ota of Kapa‘a; sister-in-law Elaine Tamura of Kapa‘a; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, at St. Sylvester Church in Kilauea, with viewing from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapaia.

Luke Keola Ichiyama
Luke Keola Ichiyama of Kealia died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 25, 2007, at the age of 25. He was born in Anahola on June 4, 1981, and was employed as a master diver with Sea Sport Divers.
He is survived by his wife Christina Ichiyama of Kealia; parents Roy and Lisa Ichiyama of Fiji; brother Adam Ichiyama of Kekaha; grandparents Howard and Jan Smith; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 3, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kapa‘a with visitation from 11 a.m. and services beginning at noon.
