Don Olivas
Don Domingo Olivas of Mililani, O‘ahu, formerly of Waimea, died at home on Jan. 22, 2007, at the age of 64.
Born in Magsingal Ilocos Sur, Philippines, on Dec. 19, 1942, he was a carpenter with the Carpenter’s Union.
He is survived by his wife Lynn Olivas; children Donna (Jed) Kaohi of Lawa‘i, Rochelle Olivas of Lawa‘i, Christie (Ronny Jr.) Tanihiro of Wailua and Neal (Tricia Valmoja) Olivas of Lawa‘i; siblings Alejandra “Ann” Olivas Dusseault (Bruce) of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu, Athmore Dexter Olivas (Eunice) of Kalaheo, Lorraine Romey (Shaya) of Washington and Joseph Olivas (Angela) of Kapa‘a; six grandchildren, Sasha, Searra and Jaymison Kaohi, Veronyka and Kalyssa Tanihiro and Tahiti Kaiwi; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; Mass officiated by Father Nap will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Alice Tomie Artuyo
Alice Tomie Artuyo of Kailua, O‘ahu, died at Castle Medical Hospital on Jan. 19, 2007, at the age of 81.
Born on Kaua‘i on Jan. 5, 1926, she retired as an office manager for the Ilima Hotel after 35 years.
She is survived by her husband George “Coach Duke” Artuyo of Kailua; son Chris (Janis) Wright of Kapa‘a; brother Seth Omi of Las Vegas; granddaughter Chantel (Paul) Foster of Mililani; four great-granddaughters, Chrislan and Daralyn Wright-Callejo, Kimlyn Gonsalves and Tatem Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Service will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Mary Masako Inoshita
Mary Masako Inoshita of Kapa‘a died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Jan. 22, 2007, at the age of 87. She was born in Kapa‘ia on June 17, 1919, and retired as a sales clerk for the Wailua Marina Gift Shop.
She is survived by one brother, Tatsumi (Kathryn) Hiramoto of Wailua Houselots; one sister, Mitsuko Fujise of O‘ahu; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Takeo Inoshita.
Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Michael John Longley
Michael John “Mike” Longley died at home on Jan. 22, 2007, at the age of 59.
Born in Yass, N.S.W., Australia, Mike came to Kaua‘i in 1972 after serving with the Australian army in Vietnam. He was a ranch hand at Princeville Ranch and later became the ranch manager. Mike, who grew up on a sheep and cattle ranch in Australia, was an accomplished horseman. He participated in Hawai‘i rodeos in the 70s and 80s and was also a founding member of the Kauai Polo Club. Fishing was his passion in recent years. He owned and operated The Fence Company in Kilauea. His zest for life was contagious and he made many friends along the way.
Michael is survived by his son Kelsey Longley of Kilauea; his daughter Michele Longley of Hilo; five grandchildren, Sierra Longley Ka‘aumoana and Harry Longley Ka‘aumoana III of Hilo and Phoenix Longley, Cruz Longley and Dayton Longley of Kilauea; his mother Brenda M. Longley; and three brothers, Mark, Joe and Tim (his fraternal twin) Longley of Sydney, Australia.
A celebration of his life will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, in Hanalei on the lot across from Kauikeolani, the old Wilcox House. Mike requested flowers and asked that there please be “no wobbly boots.”
