John Manguchei
John Manguchei of Kapa‘a died Nov. 6, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 88.
Born April 17, 1918 in Hawai‘i, he was a service truck driver for the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by his daughter, Jo Anne Manguchei; three sons, Neil Manguchei, Kenneth (Ilima) Manguchei and David Manguchei; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Kelly McGill and brother Basilio Manguchei; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Al.
Burial will be at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggestd. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Rebecca Dela Cruz
Rebecca Parubrub Dela Cruz of Kalaheo died at her daughter’s home on Nov. 12, 2006, at the age of 62. Born in Baay, Philippines, on March 5, 1944, she was a retired accountant with McBryde Federal Credit Union.
Preceded in death by her husband Rudy Dela Cruz, she is survived by daughter Debbie Dela Cruz of Kalaheo; son Lloyd Dela Cruz of Lawa‘i; granddaughter Destiny Dela Cruz of Maui; grandson Nicholas Dela Cruz of Nevada; great-grandson Legend Storer of Maui; parents Restituto and Magdelena Parubrub of Kekaha; four brothers, Henry (Ederline) Parubrub of Kaumakani, Dusty (Pamela) Parubrub of Koloa, Noel (Alicia) Layaoen of ‘Ele‘ele and Wilbur (Denise) Parubrub of Kaumakani; sister Lily Millare of Kapa‘a; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with family members at Borthwick Mortuary on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m to noon with burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Hitoshi Nakashima
Hitoshi “Hito” Nakashima of Anahola died at Garden Isle Health Care on Nov. 11, 2006, at the age of 82.
Born on Jan. 29, 1924, in Ko‘olau, he worked as maintenance personnel with Kauai Surf, Islander on the Beach and retired from Kauai Coconut Beach Hotel.
He is survived by his longtime companion Karen Iida; four children, Dennis Nakashima, Gerald (Amy) Nakashima, Jorene (Guy) Solusod and Elden Nakashima; three brothers, Satoru Nakashima of Waipahu, Sueo (Retha) Nakashima of Camas, Wash., and Robert (Clorinda) Nakashima of Kilauea; three sisters, Estella Benefield of San Clemente, Calif., Motome (Rosie) Matsuzaki of Pearl City and Audrey (Terry) Yagihara of Kilauea; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Lihue Christian Church from 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:30. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Lee Villatora
Lee Anson Leonard “Liko” Villatora of Lihu‘e died on Nov. 11, 2006, at the age of 33.
Born in Lihu‘e, on Oct. 18, 1973, he was employed by Unlimited Construction as the assistant superintendent.
He is survived by daughter, Lyric Kailani Riso-Villatora; sons, Oviri Makai Avaeoru-Villatora and Triton Aito Avaeoru-Villatora; parents Leonora Alama and Victoriano Villatora; 12 siblings, Christoper (Diane) Villatora of Kalaheo, Geneva Villatora of Texas, Leonora Ann (Norman) Luczon of Koloa, Peter (Jennifer) Villatora of Maui, Cecelia (Richard) Gomez of Ha‘ena, Joseph (Hidemi) Villatora of the Philippines, Robert Villatora of Oregon, Philip Villatora of Lihu‘e, Victoria (Nelson) Gabriel of Kalaheo, John (Kathleen) Villatora of Guam, Bernadette (Allen) Perreira of Oregon and Christine (Mark) Aqui of Kapa‘a; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Robert Allen Mendonca
Robert Allen Mendonca died Nov. 11, 2006, at the age of 72.
The son of John and Emily Mendonca, he was born on Dec. 29, 1933, in ‘Ele‘ele. He served his country for more than 20 years in the U. S. Air Force. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed golf, bowling and crafting things with his hands.
Preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Robbie and John-John, he is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Vera; daughters, Paulette (Joseph) Moody and Cynthia (Gregory) Delanoy; son Howard (Debra) Mendonca; brothers, Adam J. (Carla) Mendonca, Lawrence (Toshie) Mendonca and Raymond (Pat) Mendonca and wife Pat; and five grandchildren, Kevin Herrera, Nicholas Moody and Meghan Moody.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, Texas. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie with burial at 3 p.m. at Dallas-Forth Worth National Cemetery.

Helen Sueko Saiki Agader of Hanama‘ulu died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 7, 2006, at the age of 85.
Born in Wailua on March 6, 1921, she was a homemaker and a retired housekeeper at Kauai Surf Hotel.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Francisco Saldevar Agader; daughter Karen Agader Pescador of Lihu‘e; sons Milton (Lavina) Agader of Waialua and Jeffrey (Sandra) Agader of Mililani; grandchildren John (Ivy) Pescador, Lee Anne (Robert) Domingo, Dr. Marie (Tim Chun) Pescador, Dr. Kern (Shawn) Agader, Tammy Agader, Dana (Stanton Oishi) Agader, Esq. and Derek Agader; great-grandchildren Mari, Mika, Akira, Micah and Emilee; sisters Asano (Mineichi) Saiki of Wailua and Fusae Castillo of Puhi; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Nov. 14, 2006 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia.

Toichi Tanigawa
Toichi Tanigawa died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 14, 2006, at the age of 84.
Born in Makaweli on July 17, 1922, he was a 442nd Veteran with the United States Army.
He is survived by a brother, Kanichi Tanigawa of Hanapepe, as well as nieces and nephews.
Private (family only) services are pending the completion of the Kauai Veteran’s cemetery columbarium.
