WAILUA — The Angels finally got it together!
“They all pulled together,” the Tunda coaches said. “It was bound to happen. They’ve been playing well together. Today was when it all came together.”
The KSC-Blazing Angels, seeded fourth in the Kaua‘i Soccer Association Seven-a-side league got past top-seeded Tunda in the Under 10 playoffs at the Wailua Houselots Park and the Kapa‘a Beach Park.
Going into the game at 6-1, Tunda was the mirror opposite of KSC-Blazing Angels’ 1-6 record.
Bryan Yadao-Alisna’s foot did the damage for Tunda, but the effort came up short in the second half.
Haylei Sheldon-Graham paced the Angels’ win with a hat trick, followed by Joni Hashizumi and Jordan Taboniar each netting a goal in the win.
With the victory, the Angels advance in the KSA playoffs, meeting the victor of the Hawaiian Heat/Lihu‘e Heat encounter Sunday for the title of that division.
