The Bears growled, but that couldn’t stop the Patriots who galloped through the fields in an AYSO Boys Under 8 soccer game Saturday at the North Vidinha fields.
Playing five-a-side, the Patriot grayshirts and the Bears yellowshirts jockeyed for supremacy in muggy conditions, taking full advantage of their quarter breaks to rehydrate themselves for the ensuing battle.
Both teams hail from Lihu‘e and alternated between different positions on the field to develop their individual skills in each position.
Under the coaching of Larry Dressler, the Lihu‘e Patriots include Michael Dressler, Nathan Murray, Neal Tangalin, Mathew Panit, Dakota Dakota Cun-Lara, Keala Iwasaki, Edward Punua and Kanei Alisna-Kolo.
Tyler Bingo, Elijah Borales, Jacob Lombardo, Kurt Napoleon, Cameron Navor, Adam Pigott, Bryson Poai and Tanner Tavares make up the Lihu‘e Bears, coached by Kyle Napoleon.
