Finally there’s some justice in this picks thing.
I mean, after settling near the basement throughout the season, I finally found my groove for a perfect week.
Since there are only a few games left, the panel has decided to make each game worth two points.
The TV team still holds a large edge in the race and Dickie “Da Wizard” Chang still holds down a slim lead over David “Da Raidas” Bice for the individual top spot.
The teams that helped me out were Carolina and Washington, so I’ll ride them again this week over both Seattle (Yeah, that’s right, Soren and Todd) and Chicago.
I also chose Indianapolis over Pittsburgh, just because they’re too tough at home.
However, in another upset, I think that New England will prevail in Denver. Tom Brady and his bunch are nearly unbeatable in the playoffs.
Shanna Pollard and I are the only brave individuals on the panel to take the Redskins over the Seahawks. She said that the Redskins are just too red hot right now and that Seattle really isn’t a football town anyway.
It’s a toss-up in the Chicago/Carolina game when looking at the panelists’ picks and most everyone picked the Pats over the Broncos and the Colts over the Steelers, except for Ron Wiley.
Wiley’s going out on a limb, but since he’s doing pretty well this year, the pick should mean something.
Both the team and individual winners’ charities will receive some cash from each of the teams and panelists.
So it looks like the Kaua‘i United Way and the Kaua‘i Food Bank are the charity leaders, but it’s not over because there’s still a lot of football to be played!
