KAUA’I AND HAWAI’I BY THE NUMBERS

  • Total production of Kaua’i papaya is down for the first 11 months of this year, and down for November, compared to the same periods last year, according to figures from the state Department of Agriculture. Sales of Kaua’i papaya totaled 30,000 pounds in November, compared to 45,000 pounds in November of last year. For the first 11 months of 2005, some 430,000 pounds of Kaua’i papaya was sold, all on this island, compared to 510,000 pounds over the same period last year.
