Maria “Sally” Riola

Maria “Sally” Rosario Aguada Riola of Kaumakani, died Nov. 7, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 84.

Born Oct. 23, 1921, in Manila, Philippines, she was a custodian for Olokele Sugar Company.

She is survived by her husband: Fontanillia Riola; two sons: Robert (Lita) Riola of Waipahu and Bernard (Marcy) Riola of ‘Ele’ele; one brother: Manuel (Leyte) Aguada of Kalaheo; one sister: Gladys Paulino of Waipahu; 11 grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Marquina.

Family and friends may call on Friday, Nov. 18, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Waimea Sacred Hearts Church from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Biz Burial to follow at Hanapepe Filipino Cemetery.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary


Patricia Ventura

Patricia Ventura of Kalaheo, died Nov. 7, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 68.

Born June 17, 1937, in Kalaheo, she worked at the pro shop for Kukuiolono Golf Course.

She is survived by her husband: Franklin Ventura; four sons: Frank (Susanne) Ventura, Rodney (Debra) Ventura, Walter (Martha) Ventura, Matthew (Janice) Ventura; one brother: Robert Costa; one sister: Lucille Costa; seven grand-children; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by brother Edward Costa.

Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo where Mass wil be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Nap. Cremation to follow.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary
