Irene “Auntie Jennie” Saffery of Princeville, died Aug. 24, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 83..
Born Nov. 18, 1921, in Ahukini, she was a cook and baker for Princeville Lanai Restaurant.
She is survived by four daughters: Rose (Del) Angeles, Milwarde Metcalf, Vallendee (Frederick) Wong, Georgette Harrison; two sons: Calvin Iokepa Saffery and Gordon Kealoha Saffery; 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit wtih the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Wai‘oli Hui‘ia Church in Hanalei where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanalei Community Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
