Hazel Tetsuko Hiraoka of Lihu‘e died at home on Aug. 12, 2005, at the age of 77.
Born in Puhi, on Nov. 17, 1927, she was the owner of Hamura Saimin.
She is survived by her husband, Noboru “Bob” Hiraoka, two daughters; Lori (Alvin) Tanigawa of Lihu‘e, Wendy (Marvin) Barcial of Lihu‘e, two brothers; Charles (Elsie) Hamura of Maui, Herbert (Jean) Hamura of Lihu‘e; one sister, Doris Hironaka of Kapa‘a; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private.
Cremation and arrangements were handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Shannon Paul Lee
Shannon Paul Lee of Honolulu and Lihu‘e died at home on Aug. 4, 2005 at the age of 28.
Born on Sept. 18, 1976, in Honolulu, he was a maintenance operator with E.K. Fernandez.
He is survived by his grandmother; Bessie Jane Hendricks of Kapa‘a, mother: Yolanda Arias of Honolulu, father; Clayton Silva Sr. of Kapa‘a, Sisters; Kimberly (Arnold) Bunao of Lihu‘e, Shanelle Grace of Honolulu, Charity Girard and brother Shawn Girard, both of Kansas.
Great-grandmother; Shendrina Ebinger of Kapa‘a, Great-aunt; Barbara Ebinger of Kapa‘a, great-uncle; Albert “Sonny” Soares of Lihu‘e, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lydgate Park (beach side) on Friday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. Leis are welcomed.

Rose Bukoski Silva
Rose Bukoski Silva of Lawa‘i, died Aug. 16, 2005, at her home at the age of 94.
Born April 17, 1911, in Lihu‘e, she was a foster parent.
Preceded in death by her husband John D. Silva and hanai daughter, Delores Shaffer, she is survived by three sons: Richard (Louise) Silva of Lawa‘i, Robert (Josephine) Silva of ‘Ele‘ele, and James (Patricia) Silva of San Diego, Calif.; three hanai daughters: Linda (Michael) Koerte of Hanama‘ulu and Diana (Darel) Simao of Lawa‘i, and Josephine of New Mexico; eight grand-children, 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa, where Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 pm. by Father James Anguay. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
