Sunao “Sandy” Yoshimori
Sunao “Sandy” Yoshimori, of Koloa, died at home on July 12, 2005, at the age of 81.
Born in Koloa on May 10, 1924, he was a retired employee of Mc-Bryde Sugar Company for the last 19 years. He was also a 442nd Veteran (F Company) of WWII.
He is survived by wife Alice Yoshimori of Koloa; two daughters, Charlene (Alan) Garcia of Puhi and Alicia (Dennis) Matsumoto of Lihu‘e; granddaughter, Lianne Allianic of Sunnyvale, Calif., grandson, Michael Garcia of Lihu‘e; two brothers, Hideto Yoshimori of Koloa and Tamotsu (Jane) Yoshimori of Koloa; three sisters, Fumie Yamasaki of Honolulu, Tomoe Higa of Koloa and Majory (Stan) Kinoshita of Hilo, Hawai‘i; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Rev. Abeshima will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Marvillee Nitta
Marvillee Nani Waialeale Kaiwa “Aunty Nani” Nitta died on July 5, 2005, at the age of 71.
She was born Oct. 26, 1933, to Edward Baba Kaiwa and Ida Ono Kaiwa in Kekaha. She worked for the tourist industry for many years.
She is survived by her former spouse, Roland Tsuneo Nitta of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Mary Nitta of Kekaha, brother, Sonny (Aumoe) Kaiwa of Ka‘a‘awa, O‘ahu; sisters, Gail (Stewart) Burley of Lawa‘i, Ivy Rivera of Kekaha; sons, Jeffery Nitta of Kekaha, Francis (Rosalie) Nitta of Kekaha, Marvin (Patricia) Nitta of Gig Harbor, Wash., Mark (Kathy) Nitta of Grand Terrace, Calif., daughters, Raleen (Zeebedee) Rivera of York, Neb., Rhona Nitta, Rena (Asa) Williams of Little Rock, Ark. and Roxanne Stecher of Kihei, Maui; 14 grandchildren, six great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held on July 9, at Garden Island Mortuary. A private graveside ceremony was held at Kaiwa Ohana site at Kekaha Hawaiian Graveyard by the family on July 11. Contributions may be made in her memory to Kauai United Way.

Ernest A. Palacio Jr.
Ernest A. Palacio Jr. of Kilauea died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 15, 2005, at the age of 38.
Born on Aug. 16, 1966, on Kaua‘i, he was employed by Silver Falls Ranch as a grounds maintenance worker.
Predeceased by his mother, Gloria Apilado Stuart and brother, Edmund A. Palacio, he is survived by his father, Ernest A. Palacio Sr. of Oklahoma; son, Alexander Palacio of Kaua‘i; sisters, Flora (Al) Tomas of Kaua‘i, Shanni (Sal) Cigarroa, Desiree (Hector) Balayo, both of California; maternal grandmother, Paulina Apilado of Kilauea; aunts, Teresita (Ben) Manuel of Colorado, Evelyn A. Lum of Kilauea, Shirleen Palacio of ‘Ele‘ele; uncle, Glen Apilado; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday July 22, 2005, from 9:30 a.m. with graveside services starting at 10 a.m. at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Petrus Rosario
Petrus Rosario of ‘Ele‘ele, died July 12, 2005, at Queen’s Hospital at the age of 34.
Born Aug. 19, 1970, in Pohnpel, Micronesia, he was a laborer for Kauai Commercial.
He is survived by his wife: Carmela Rosario of ‘Ele‘ele, two sons: Soluwa Rosario and Jay Rosario, both of ‘Ele‘ele; mother: Virginia Rosario of Micronesia; one sister: Katherine Rosario of Micronesia; four brothers: Desely Rosario, and Bruce Rosario, both of Micronesia, Jesty Helgen of Florida and Yginas Helgen of ‘Ele‘ele; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Salt Pond, where services will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be held back in his hometown in Micronesia. Donations in his name may be made at Kauai Community Federal Credit Union.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Roberto “Bob” Ladera, Jr.
Roberto “Bob” Ladera, Jr. of Hanama‘ulu, died at Queens Medical Center on July 17, 2005, at the age of 60.
Born in Lihu‘e, on July 25, 1944, he was a heavy equipment operator with Lihue Plantation.
He is survived by caregiver, Kathleen Ladera; two sons, Roberto “Bobby” Ladera III of Hanama‘ulu and Michael Ladera of Ewa, O‘ahu; grandson, Michael Ladera, Jr.; brother, Wesley (Priscilla) Ladera; two sisters, Valerie (Bobby) Teixeira and Janet (Ronnie) Silva; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Kalaheo Missionary Church, where services will begin at 10 a.m. with Pastor Terui officiating.
Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
