The state champion Kaua‘i Jr. Lifeguard team will be hitting the beach on Tuesday at Kealia and Po‘ipu for the first time since their state title run last season on O‘ahu.
This free program is for Kaua‘i youths between the ages of 13-17 years old.
Many youths from last seasons state championship team are returning for another run and the officials involved would like to see more individuals out on the beach, getting sweaty!
The youths that participate in this program must be able to swim and run 100 meters, non-stop, and must be comfortable in various ocean conditions.
This year, the state championships will be on Kaua‘i, so come out and support the Garden Isle’s best.
The dates for the program are as follows: Monday-Friday 10 a.m. — 2 p.m.Participants must bring their own lunch, goggles, swimsuit, towel and sun screen.
Kealia/Po‘ipu: July 11-15
Hanalei/Salt Pond: July 18-22
Kalapaki: July 25-29
Kaua‘i Championships: Hanalei Bay: July 30-31
State Championships: Duke’s, Kalapaki Beach: August 6
