Gilbert George Ebinger of Waipahu, O‘ahu, died April 24, 2005, at St. .Francis Medical Center West, at the age of 68.
Born April 21, 1937, in Kawaihau, he was a retired truck river for Texaco, and an avid softball player for Makule Leagues. He was also a member of the King Kamehameha Civic Club and Hawai‘i Pa‘u Riders.
He is survived by his wife: Queenie K. Dikito Ebinger of Honolulu; two sons: Gilrod Ebinger and Kunane Ebinger, both of Honolulu; three daughters: Rochelle Akiona and Kira Akiona, both of Honolulu ande Momi Gager of Hilo; two step-sons: Leroy Dikito of Hilo and Bunny Dikito of Honolulu; three step-daughters: Tee Dikito of Honolulu, Dai Morrissey of Nevada and Lovey Dikito of Honolulu; four brothers: Hitcliff (Beatrice) Ebinger of Kaua‘i, Hugh (Shirley) Ebinger of Kaua‘i, Keith (Diane) Ebinger of Kaua‘i and Olson (Chris) Ebinger of Florida; one sister: Florence (Martin) Munkacsi of Kaua‘i; special caregivers: Kahea and Kanoe of Honolulu; 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel: Wake service 7 p.m. also 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 20 at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe, Kaua‘i (Pavilion), funeral service at 10 a.m., burial at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Mililani Memorial Park.
Mitsuo Yamamoto
Mitsuo Yamamoto of Honolulu, died May 1, 2005, in Honolulu.
Born Oct. 16, 1924, in Koloa, he was a retired building contractor, restaurant owner, and WWII veteran.
He loved meeting and talking with people, and enjoyed traveling.
He lived his last years with his daughter, Audrey (Mike) Abe in Honolulu. He is also survived by sons, Roland (Robin) Yamamoto of Redmond, Wash., and Grant Yamamoto of Kauai; grandchildren Liz Abe, and Riley, Russell and Robert Yamamoto; sisters Satsue Ono and Dorothy (Takashi) Yamada; brother: Masao (Joan) Yamamoto; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Lihue Christian Church followed by service at 1:30 p.m. Inurnment ceremony with veteran honors at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, at the Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Casual attire. No flowers.
