Registration ends today for the Lihu‘e Baseball League for the 2005 Mustang, Bronco, and Pony seasons.
Eligible players: Mustang Division born between August 1, 1994 – July 31, 1996. Bronco Division born between August 1, 1992 – July 31, 1994. Pony Division born between August 1, 1990 and July 31, 1992
Application forms can be picked up and completed at the portable building adjacent to the Lihue Baseball field (across from the Convention Hall). Registration will be held today, Monday, February 28, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Parents must provide 2 copies of their child’s birth certificate and 2 copies of their medical insurance card at the time of registration.
Registration Fees are as follows: Mustang & Bronco $75.00 per child/Pony $100.00 per child.

There will be a mixed martial arts tournament on March 19 at Kapa‘a High School’s Gym, starting at 6 p.m.

Learn to swim with Mokihana Aquatics
Mokihana Aquatics are currently accepting registrations for its upcoming Learn to Swim Class, which starts in March and ends in October. Kawaihau Little League registration
The Kawaihau Community Little League Majors registration is going on now through March 30 at the Kapa‘a Little League Field on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 46 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Applications are also available at Pono Market.
Relay for Life softball tournament
The Second Annual Open Men’s Softball Tournament (Connie’s Fighters and Survivors) will take place at the Waimea Canyon School Ballpark from March 1113. Entrance fee per team is $175. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Hawaii upsets UCLA
LOS ANGELES — The University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team upset topranked UCLA 3025, 3026, 3025 Saturday night.
It marked the first time the Warriors swept from the Bruins in Los Angeles.
Matt Bender led Hawaii, ranked No. 3 in the USA Today/CSTV Top 15 Coaches Poll, with 16 kills. He posted a .625 hitting percentage. Teammate Pedro Azenha had 11 kills and three of the Warriors’ six service aces.
Hawaii improved to 112 overall and 91 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. UCLA dropped to 152 and 112.
The Warriors, who lost to UCLA on Friday night, return home to host No. 2 Pepperdine on Wednesday and Friday.
