Roseanne Rodeo wins apiece at the “Da Roadrunner” Shimogawa and Kristyn “Da Rippa” Vasconcelles shook up the 2005 KAGRA (Kaua‘i AllGirls Association) season with two 2005 KAGRA rodeo on Jan. 30 at CJM Country Stables.
Shimogawa shared the 1st division barrel racing title with Marti Snyder with a time of 18.36. The Kalaheo girl also took home the firstplace hardware for her amazing breakaway roping abilities. She outpaced Coralyn Murayama 13.26 to 13.29.
Meanwhile, Vasconcelles undecorated the steer the best with a time of 5.26, denying Murayama of her third event win.
“V” also grabbed the second division pole bending title over Tami Tamamoto 23.73 to 24.14.
In the second division barrel racing event, Charlene Medeiros gave her daughter Kim a lesson on age, as the elder Medeiros beat out the younger Medeiros, 19.89 to 20.12. Kim will have more shots at her mom in upcoming KAGRA events.
Medeiros nabbed the goattying contest over McKenzie McCoy, 25.46 to 25.75.
Wendy Tannery grabbed the first division pole bending event title over Snyder, who took both the second and third place slots.
Murayama and Corrina Schumacher teamed up to win the dally team roping competition over Snyder and Shimogawa.
