Florence McKay Bain
Florence “Flo” McKay Bain, of Kailua, formerly of Lihu‘e, died Dec. 27, 2004 at the age of 71.
Born in Sharon, Penn., she served as a missionary in Congo and Sarawak, Malaysia. In Hawai‘i she was teacher, choir director, Hawai‘i Literacy executive director, and executive staff of the American Cancer Society. She sang with the Kauai Chorale, Na Leo Lani, and the O‘ahu Choral Society.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley; daughter, Belinda Dragoo; son Jonathan; granddaughter, Jenna Dragoo; brothers, Ellis McKay (deceased), Donald and David; and sister, Margaret Hileman. She has given her body to the John A. Burns School of Medicine for research and education. Private family service.
There will be an informal gathering of friends, Thursday, Jan. 27, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lihue United Church, 4340 Old Nawiliwili Rd, Lihu‘e. A light dinner and refreshments will be available. Casual attire, but no flowers, please. Memorial donations may be made to the Kauai Chorale or the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries for theological and women’s education at Mulungwishi, Congo.
Antone Louis Costa
Antone Louis Costa of Kalaheo died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 23, 2005, at the age of 66.
Born in Koloa, on Apr. 5, 1938, he was a supervisor with Lihue Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Mae Costa; two sons, Roger William (Darrah) Costa of ‘Ele‘ele and Richard Shannon Costa of Kalaheo; two daughters, Ramona L. Costa of Maui and Melanie R. (Alfred) Alesna of Kealia; nine grandchildren; parents, Antone and Elizabeth Costa Ayres of Kalaheo; brother, William A. (Marie) Costa Ayres of Hayward, Calif.; five sisters, Myrtle (Alfred) Fernandes of New Plymouth, Idaho, Hazel (William) Sipes of Rancho Murieta, Calif., Henrietta (Clarence) Orsatelli of ‘Ele‘ele, Mildred (Ernest) Silva of Kekaha and Emily (Frank) Souza of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Mass officiated by Father Biz will begin at 10 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested, and flowers should be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Mildred Venzon
Mildred Venzon of Nawiliwili died Jan. 24, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 81.
Born Aug. 17, 1923, in Cavite City, Cavite, Philippines, she was a homemaker
She is survived by her husband: Constantino Alamar Venzon; eight children: Roland (Ludivina Valdez) Afable, Ofelia (Sergio) Afable Azores, Gerardo (Violy Pineda) Venzon, Jesus (Lety Andres) Venzon, Jaime (Jodie Tiomico) Venzon, Jocelyn (Antonio) Venzon Bonilla, Jefferson (Iris Kinoshita) Venzon and Juvel (Manuel) Venzon Ladera; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Lihu‘e Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.

Michael Morehead
Michael Morehead of Lihu‘e, died at his home on Jan. 18, 2005, at the age of 70.
Born in Detroit, Mich. on July 27, 1934, he was a design engineer with a gas company.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Morehead of Huntington Woods, Mich.; four daughters, Michelle (Ben) Castle of Huntington Woods, Mich., Tammy (Pat) Watson of Canton, Mich., Rebecca (Greg) Wright of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Valerie (Matt) Cole of Royal Oak, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Prescott of Southfield, Mich., and Frances Michaels of Hudson, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion. Casual attire is suggested.

Jodine “Dini” Marie Silva of Kapa‘a died Jan. 15, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 50.
Born Jan. 7, 1955, in Lihu‘e, she worked for Alu Like.
She is survived by her husband: William “Butchie” Silva Sr. of Kapahi; two daughters: Kamele (Llewellyn) Woodward of Kapahi and Leidene Silva; three sons: William Silva Jr. of Kapahi, Leighton Silva of Kapahi, and Quintin Silva of Kapahi; parents: Joseph and Dorothy Ornellas of Kapa‘a; three sisters: Sheila (William) Richbow of Nevada, Cozie (George) Whitfield of Makaha, and Carlene (Roland) Watson of Pearl City; four brothers: Joseph (Debbie) Ornellas of Kapa‘a, Quintin (Jacqueline) Ornellas of Kapa‘a and Milton (Debbie) Ornellas of California; two grandsons; one granddaughter and his mother-in-law Isabella Silva of Kapa‘a; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
