Catherine Joe Palacio
Catherine Joe Palacio of Lihu‘e, died Dec. 29, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 60.
Born Dec. 10, 1944, in Pampa, Texas, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband: Ben Palacio of Lihu‘e; sister: Donna Owens of Colorado; daughter: Keisha Prieto of New York; stepdaughters: Chenoa Palacio of ‘Oma‘o and Kisha Palacio of Kapa‘a; stepsons: Walley Palacio of Kapa‘a and Hoku Palacio of ‘Oma‘o; hanai parents: Elizabeth and Federico Palacio of McBryde; hanai sisters: Carmelita (Danny) Patricio, of Kaumakani, Shirley Dunlap of O‘ahu, and Donna (Richard) Lau of Kalaheo; hanai brothers: Aureilo (Claudia) Mina of Hilo, Vincent (Lois) Palacio of Kalaheo, Val (Kathie) Palacio of Missouri, Eddie (Natalie) Palacio of Hilo and Ray (Nenita) Palacio of ‘Ele‘ele; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, at Aloha Church in Lihu‘e, where service will be held at 5 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Michael Saulibio
Michael Dexter Saulibio of Lihu‘e, died Jan. 2, 2005, at his home at the age of 52.
Born June 2, 1951, in Lihu‘e, he was a correctional officer at Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center.
He is survived by one son: Michael Saulibio of Washington; one daughter: Tara Saulibio of Colorado; mother: Leonora “Lee” Saulibio of Lihu‘e; sister: Joanna “Namaka” (Albert) Kaui of Anahola.
VIsitation is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 10, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia at 8:30 a.m. Services at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Scattering of his cremains will be held at a later date at his fishing grounds at Ahukini Bay.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Drucilla Louis
Drucilla “Cilla” Lynell Louis of ‘Oma‘o, died Jan. 3, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 57.
Born March 4, 1947, in Koloa, she was co-owner of Richard’s Auto Body & Paint Shop.
Preceded in death by her mother, Alice Maglinti, she is survived by husband: Richard “Dicky” Louis of ‘Oma‘o; three sons: Richard “Ricky” (Colleen) Louis of Kalaheo, Derrick (Jemi) Louis of ‘Oma‘o and Kevin (Jeanie) Louis of ‘Oma‘o; daughter Lynell Louis of ‘Oma‘o; father: Lono Fu of Anahola; step father: John Maglinti of Kalaheo; mother-in-law: Gussie Louis of ‘Oma‘o; two brothers: Landis (Ginny) Fu of New York and Vernon (Lynn) Fu of Lawai; sister: Ilona (Wally) Moritsugu of Koloa; step sisters & brother; three grandchildren: Bryston, Derrik, and Matthew Louis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be on Friday, Jan. 7, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Biz. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Russell Dean Potts
Russell Dean Potts of Indianapolis and Princeville, died at home in Indianapolis on Dec. 26, 2004 at the age of 68.
Born July 10, 1936, in Indianapolis, he was a former member and past president of the Northside Optimist Club and current member of the Northside Kiwanis Club of Indianapolis and the North Shore Lions Club on Kaua‘i. He had won several awards for his creative design work as a commercial artist and designer and taught classes in Commercial Art and Design at Butler University and Clark College. After his retirement he continued to teach watercolor classes at Pahio resorts on Kauai.
He was the husband of 44 years to Judith (Winslow) Potts and the father of Andrew Stuart Potts (Steve Clark) of Washington, D.C. and Christianna (Tom) Deuschle of Zionsville. Other survivors include two sisters Nancy Conroy of Maryville, WA and Sandra (Tom) Redick of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Potts.
Funeral services were held at First Friends church of Indianapolis.
