Catherine Joe Palacio of Lihu‘e died Dec. 29, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 60.
Born Dec. 10, 1944, in Pampa, Texas, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband: Ben Palacio of Lihu‘e; sister: Donna Owens of Colorado; daughter: Keisha Prieto of New York; stepdaughters: Chenoa Palacio of ‘Oma‘o and Kisha Palacio of Kapa‘a; stepsons: Walley Palacio of Kapa‘a and Hoku Palacio of ‘Oma‘o; hanai parents: Elizabeth and Federico Palacio of McBryde; hanai sisters: Carmelita (Danny) Patricio of Kaumakani, Shirley Dunlap of O‘ahu, and Donna (Richard) Lau of Kalaheo; hanai brothers: Aureilo (Claudia) Mina of Hilo, Vincent (Lois) Palacio of Kalaheo, Val (Kathie) Palacio of Missouri, Eddie (Natalie) Palacio of Hilo, and Ray (Nenita) Palacio of ‘Ele‘ele; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, at Aloha Church in Lihu‘e, where service will be held at 5 p.m.

Antone Parraga
Antone “Tony” Parraga of Kekaha died Dec. 28, 2004, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
Born June 30, 1929, in Kalaheo, he was harvesting superintendent for the Kekaha Sugar plantation.
He is survived by his wife: Annie Shirley Parraga of Kekaha; daughters: Suzette Parraga of Honolulu, Lori Parraga, of Lihu‘e, and Terry (Kurt) Souza of Lihu‘e; three grandchildren: Amber Andrade, Ian Perry and Shane Perry; one great grandchild: Ayden Knight; sisters: Mildred Nakea, of Kekaha, Mary (John) Ruiz of Kekaha, and Alice (Freddie) Reis of California; two brothers: Louis (Margie) Parraga of Kekaha and Joe Parraga of Texas; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha where services will be held at 1 p.m. Cremation will follow.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Masashi Takemoto
Masashi Takemoto of Hanapepe Heights died at home on Dec. 21, 2004 at the age of 78. Born in Makaweli on May 28, 1926, he was a retired mechanic with Gay & Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Fumie; son, Dennis (Mary) Takemoto of Hanapepe Heights, grandchildren Ken, Mark and Tracy Takemoto; great-grandchildren, K-Malia and Tyde Takemoto; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and cousins.
Service were private. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Hermilina Bermodez
Hermilina “Miling” Bermodez of Kekaha died Dec. 31, 2004, at Kauai Care Center in Waimea at the age of 89.
Born May 2, 1915, in the Philippines, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by husband, Isidro Bermodez. and daughters, Leonora and Florida, she is survived by sons: Jaime (Connie) Bermodez of Mililani, O‘ahu and Justino (Myong Sun) Bermodez of Maili, O‘ahu; daughter: Estelle (Ryoichi) Fukushima of Kekaha; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 8, at United Methodist Church in Kekaha from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Burial to follow in Kekaha Cemetery.

Drucilla Louis
Drucilla “Cilla” Lynell Louis of ‘Oma‘o died Jan. 3, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 57.
Born March 4, 1947, in Koloa, she was co-owner of Richard’s Auto Body & Paint Shop.
Preceded in death by her mother, Alice Maglinti, she is survived by husband: Richard “Dicky” Louis of ‘Oma‘o; three sons: Richard “Ricky” (Colleen) Louis of Kalaheo, Derrick (Jemi) Louis of ‘Oma‘o, and Kevin (Jeanie) Louis of ‘Oma‘o; daughter Lynell Louis of ‘Oma‘o; father, Lono Fu of Anahola; stepfather, John Maglinti of Kalaheo; mother-in-law: Gussie Louis of ‘Oma‘o; two brothers: Landis (Ginny) Fu of New York and Vernon (Lynn) Fu of Lawa‘i; sister, Ilona (Wally) Moritsugu of Koloa; stepsisters & brother; three grandchildren: Bryston, Derrik, and Matthew Louis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be on Friday, Jan. 7, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa, where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Biz. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery.

Michael Saulibio
Michael Dexter Saulibio of Lihu‘e died Jan. 2, 2005 at his home at the age of 52.
Born June 2, 1951, in Lihu‘e, he was a correctional officer at Kauai Community Correctional Center.
He is survived by one son, Michael Saulibio of Washington; one daughter, Tara Saulibio of Colorado; mother, Leonora “Lee” Saulibio of Lihu‘e; sister, Janna “Namaka” (Albert) Kaui of Anahola.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 10, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia at 8:30 a.m. Services are at 9:30 a.m., with cremation to follow. Scattering of his cremains will be held at a later date at his fishing grounds at Ahukini Bay.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
