Sixteen homes were sold in Hanalei last month — twice as many as the same time last year — and median prices in Hanalei led the island at $675,000 for residences, and $495,000 for condominiums. Kauai’s median hit a record high of $580,000 last month, up 59 percent over this time last year, according to the Hawaii Information Service. For the third quarter of this year, the average price (not the median) of a home on Kaua‘i was $713,000, according to Fidelity Mutual Information Solutions and Prudential Locations. Different from the average, the median price is the exact middle price of all units sold. There were 50 residential properties sold on Kaua‘i for a median of $547,500, and 38 condominiums sold for a median of $415,000, according to the Hawaii Information Service. Koloa followed with $604,000 for residences and $352,000 for condos. Medians and totals at a glance:
