After defeating the Blu Cru of Kalaheo on Saturday for the westside AYSO U12 boys title, the Waimea Flaming Pickles used its momentum to blank Kilauea, 2-0 in Will Veeck tourney action at Vidinha Stadium.
Waimea’s Beau Acoba and Cody Nishek came up with a goal a piece for the win.
In other AYSO action, the Splitfire defeated the Kapa‘a Hot Rods, 8-5. Teak Owen, Christian Potter (2), Chase Hanson, and Tyler Bundy (4) scored goals for Splitfire. Hot Rod scores came from Derek Silva, Derek Yamane, Trevor McCracken (2), and Aaron Salvador. Outstanding players were Kai Haugland, Kyle Illnez, Makena Baker, Tyler Morris, Alex Zentgraf, Jacob Lewis, Lawson Fernandes, Robert Soares, and Makoa Gonsalves.
In girls U10 action, the Kapa‘a Dynamites rocked the Wailua Roxy Sisters, 6-4. Chloe Stokes (2), Chia Victor (3), Kaylee Silva, and Mia Cabulisan (2) scored goals for Kapa‘a. Jannin Hashizume (2), Tori Pezario, and Mariah Pai got goals for Wailua. Outstanding players included, Gabrielle Harrington, Keana Green, Isabella Voorhies, Sierra DeForge, Kelli Loo, Anna Marie Chong, Sybil Chand, and Kacie Kunioka-Volz.
