Shiba plays final contest

Adams State (Colorado) senior kicker Ryan Shiba of Kalaheo will be playing his last game at Rex Stadium, the home of Grizzley football. Today, Adams State will visit Colorado School of Mines for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) title.
Officials’ meeting
Anyone interested in becoming a football official, or those who want to get back into officiating, are invited to attend an officials’ meeting, held every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center.
Kilauea gym closure
The Kilauea gym will be closed from now through the 19th. For more information, call the Kilauea N/C at 828-1421 and ask for Dellvyne Gandia.
Kalawai baseball registration
The Kalawai Youth Baseball Club will be accepting registration for all children aged 5-14, who are interested in playing baseball for the 2005 baseball season. Registration will be held from 6-8 p.m., at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from Nov. 8-10. There are five different leagues for children of different ages. State quarterfinal game at Vidinha
The 2004 HHSAA division II state football quarterfinal game has a new venue. The game was originally scheduled to take place at Hanapepe Stadium due to track resurfacing at Vidinha Stadium. However, there is some delay with the resurfacing and the game will now be played at Vidinha Stadium on November 19.
Kaua‘i High School will play the MIL’s division II champ, which will either be Pac-3 or Kamehameha-Maui. Pac-3 has a chance to get the state berth this weekend with a win. If Kamehameha-Maui wins, then they will head to a playoff game on Nov. 12 with Pac-3, with the winner challenging Kaua‘i on Nov. 19 at Vidinha Stadium.
Youth lacrosse clinic
There will be a youth lacrosse clinic on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Wailua Homesteads Park.
It’s open to youth in grades 5-8 and equipment will be provided.

Kaua‘i Polo Club meeting
Rain or Shine, the Kaua‘i Polo Club will conduct its 3rd meeting at the Anini Polo Field on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. In attendance at this meeting will be a representative from a local vendor to discuss and present items for their logo shop. A member of the corporate fundraising team will report on their meeting with Ron Bonaguidi.
West Kaua‘i Youth Baseball registration
The West Kaua‘i Youth Baseball League would like to announce registration dates and times for its Shetland (5-6 years) and Pinto (7-8 years) divisions for the 2005 season.

Four UH soccer players named All-WAC
The 2004 women’s soccer all-WAC teams were announced at the conference tournament banquet with four Rainbow Wahine earning recognition. Senior midfielder Joelle Sugai and junior forward Natasha Kai earned first-team honors, while senior forward Robyn deHay and senior defender Krystalyn Ontai were named to the second team.
It was the third straight year that Kai earned first team honors. Sugai, who was named preseason all-WAC along with Kai during the summer, gained all-WAC honors for the second straight season.
It was also back to back honors for deHay, a first-team selection last year.
Ontai anchored the UH defense with her gritty play.
Also, UH fell to Tulsa in a shootout on Thursday in the first round of the WAC tourney.
