Week five was a rough week for almost everyone except David “Three Blind” Bice and I.
Good thing David and I worked together at FM97, because we shared the same chemistry in the “Gridiron Challenge.”
Also, this is a big week for prep football on Kaua‘i, as first-place is up for grabs between the Red Raiders and the Menehune tonight, 7:35 at Vidinha Stadium.
The Garden Island’s Paul “Tall” Curtis and the Surf’s Shel “Corn on the” Cobb were the only individuals to pick Kaua‘i over Waimea.
Being a Kaua‘i High grad, it was tough picking the Menehune, but I had to put my pride down and go with the team that I really think is going to win the game.
Also, few of the pickers went with Colorado. Seems like we got a bunch of wagon jumpers. Dizon and the ‘Buffs play on national TV against Oklahoma State in a huge Big 12 match-up.
UH in the meantime, stays at home to play Nevada. The Wolfpack pose a stronger threat to the Warriors, who are looking to pick up their second straight win. The three teams remained in the same positions with the radio crew gaining a couple of games on the TV gang. Besides the 11-3 week by David and I, J. Robertson, Shanna Pollard, Ron Wiley, and Shel Cobb all posted 9-5 records. Katie Beer came away with her worst week yet (Good news for the rest of us)! “Tricky” Dickie Chang went 8-6 (Seems like he needs to work on a picks segment on Wala‘au). Paul “Pull down the” Curtis was the sour apple in the bunch, going 6-8, to bring down The Garden Island crew (Thanks Paul)!
Ron Wiley “Coyote” and his dog Elvis are still teaming up, but I think it’s not working too well. Also, I think The Garden island’s publisher, Shanna Pollard is consulting with her husband, Chad because she seems to mention his name every once in a while when we talk football (Hmm).
Will David Bice in Paradise show us all how to do it again this week, or will I surprisingly score highly again, will “Mr. Tricky” Dickie Chang finally get his perfect week, or will J. “Everything’s OK” Robertson find the perfect cominations to get the high score for the week?
