Leaders in the County of Kaua‘i Department of Public Works remind the public that a manual for best-management practices related to sediment and erosion control work is available in the Engineering Division office.
County Ordinance No. 808, the “Sediment and Erosion Control Ordinance,” required that best-management practices be established and employed as minimum requirements in all grading, grubbing and stockpiling activities in the county, regardless of whether or not a permit is required.
County DPW officials said members of the public may reference the manual weekdays during regular business hours at the Engineering Division office, 4444 Rice St., Suite 175, the Lihu‘e Civic Center.
