Eugene “Geno” Beltrame
Eugene “Geno” Beltrame died July 24, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 74, after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
Born Feb. 12, 1930, in Allentown, Pa., he was trained as a medical technician in the U.S. Army, served as a medical equipment technician for area hospitals in Lehigh Valley, PA;, before moving to Hawai‘i where he was a representative for medical equipment. He was also manager of the Rose and Crowns Pub in Honolulu and became involved with elderly affairs programs after moving to Kaua‘i.
He was the current manager of the Lihu‘e Theatre Senior Apartments.
He is survived by sons Eugene Jr. of Honolulu, Hy of Allentown, Pa., and daughters Deen of Allentown, PA, Lehualani of Honolulu, Lokelani of Kaua‘i, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Private services for the family will be held at a later date.
Remembrances may be made to Kauai Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Thomas Kilshaw Irwin of Lihu‘e, died July 27, 2004, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 80.
Born June 26, 1924, in Pennsylvania, he was a retired banker and volunteer with Malama Pono and Wilcox Hospital.
He also spent three years in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Irwin of Lihu‘e; one son: Franklin (Pam) Irwin of Kentucky; one granddaughter: Jana (Sean) Lambert of Kentucky, one great granddaughter: Carlie Lambert of Kentucky; one step daughter: Debbie Irwin of Kentucky; five step children: Mike Kment, Tony Kment, Becky Sakimae, Kristie Schmid, and Karla Bailey; and one hanai son: Charlie White of New Jersey.;
Private services were held. Donations may be made to Wilcox Memorial Hospital Foundation, 3420 Kuhio Highway, Lihue, HI 96766.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
John K. Tremaine Jr.
John K. Tremaine, Jr. of Honolulu, Maui, the Big Island and Lihu‘e, died July 28, 2004, at his home in Lihu‘e at the age of 66.
Born Aug. 18, 1937, in Honolulu, he was a civil superintendent for Goodfellow Construction, Inc.
He is survived by his wife: Magdelena “Maggie” Tremaine of Lihu‘e; three sons: John Kaena Tremaine, III of Kekaha, Jaeson Tremaine of Makena, Maui, and Kaimana “Mana Man” Tremaine of Hanapepe; one daughter: Jaedene “Tita” Waiala Kajiwara of Waimea; parents: Margie and David Kapu Koani of Honolulu; two sisters: Jaquelina Leanio of Anahola and Sherry Anderson of Ocean View, Big Island; four brothers: Clayton Tremaine of Kona, Big Island, Grant Veddar, Douglas Tremaine of Texas and Gordon Tremaine of Red Hill, O‘ahu; eight step children: Victoria (Amos) Tamura of Honolulu, Clayton (Marian) Delos Santos of Maui, Brenda (Eddie) Viernes of Honolulu, Karen Delos Santos of Honolulu, Nadine (Jaime) Ito of Maui, Rochelle (Jeff) Stark of Kaua‘i, Roxanne (Keokipalau) Gonsalves of Kaua‘i and Edward Kanda of Honolulu; four grandchildren ; 16 step grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Aug. 6, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
