In an upset game, East Kaua‘i dumped the Rookies by a score of 9-6. The Rookies started off with high expectations when they scored five runs in the first inning on hits from Walter Souza, Raymond Espino, Stan Dela Cruz, Archie Fontanilla, Richard Vidinha and Wally Sonoda. East Kaua‘i retaliated with three runs in the same inning as a result of two Rookies’ errors and hits from Alex Youn, Dickie Koerte and a sacrifice fly from Jerome Hew.
Kawaihau v.s. Kuku’s Aces
Kawaihau won their fourth game of the season by a score of 8-4, placing them in sixth place. Kawaihau scored four runs in the fifth inning with two outs off hits from Steve Fujii and home runs from Ron Alfonso and Blaine Davis. In the sixth inning Paul Gusman got on with a base hit single and later crossed the plate with the fifth run as a result of a Kuku’s Aces error and a fielders choice hit by Louis Victorino. Kawaihau scored their final three runs in the top of the seventh inning with back to back hits from Calvin Fujita, Alfonso, and Davis. Winning pitcher for Kawaihau was Paul Gusman. Hitters for Kawaihau were: Calvin Fujita and Davis with 2-4 and Alfonso with 3- 4.
West Kaua‘i v.s. K-Makule
West Kaua‘i toppled K-Makule in this time limit six inning game with a score of 15-13. West Kaua‘i scored two runs in the first inning with Daniel Manus drawing a BB followed with base hits from Frank Bukoski, Bruddah Rittmeister, Boni Garma and a sacrifice fly from Larry Ephan. K-Makule returned fire in the first inning by bringing five runs across the plate. Eddie Dela Cruz drew a BB and was relieved by courtesy runner Doric Remata.
