Nicholas “Nicky” Quereto
Nicholas “Nicky” Quereto of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 30, 2004, at the age of 61. A delivery person for Kapa‘a Pizza Hut, he was born in Lihu‘e on Nov. 30, 1942.
He is survived by brothers John Quereto of Kapa‘a and Moroni (Melanie) Quereto of Iowa, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are set for Saturday, July 10, at the Kapaa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Viewing is from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kapa‘a Public Cemetery. The family requests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Hisae Matsukawa
Hisae Matsukawa of Waimea died July 1, 2004, at his residence. She was 80. A retired accountant at Waimea Dispensary, she was born on Kaua‘i Nov. 28, 1923.
She is survived by husband Yoshio Matsukawa of Waimea; son Wesley Matsukawa of Honolulu; sisters Chizue Shimaoka and Tomiko Shimaoka, both of Honolulu; and one brother, Calvin Shimaoka of California; and two grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, July 8, at Waimea United Church of Christ, with visitation at 10 a.m., and service at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery. The family suggests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
