Paul Ikaika Alapai
Paul Ikaika Alapai of Kapa‘a, died June 21, 2004, in Anahola at the age of 67.
Born June 21, 1937, in Kapa‘a, he was a combat infantryman for the Armed Forces.
He is survived by 11 sisters: Esther Marie Heen, Flora Iseri, Miriam Lahapa (William) Texeira, Frances Leina Kaneakua, Lei Millarich, Lucille Momi Alapai, Katherine Kalehua (Gary) Ham Young, Anne (Tom) Hashimoto, Flossy Tai Hook, Lady Haumea, Travis (Jerry) Tubal; three brothers: China Haumea, Henry (Ricky) Tai Hook, and Wilbert “Ah Fook” (Lillian) Tai Hook; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church where Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. by Father Al. Burial to follow at Kapaa Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Tex Muneo Yamamoto
Tex Muneo Yamamoto of Hau‘ula, O‘ahu, died June 20, 2004, at the age of 78.
Born Oct. 8, 1925, in Hanapepe, he was a retired guard with the State of Hawai‘i.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiana “Jana” Yamamoto; sons, Kekona Yamamoto and Bradford Yamamoto; daughters, Napua “Titaina” Aumua-Yamamoto and Doreen Barney; brothers, Tsutomu and Thomas; sisters, Lois Hashimoto, Jane Kuribayashi, and Grace Okumura; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on O‘ahu, with service at 3 p.m. and cremation to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and asks that flowers be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Woosley-Hosoi Mortuary Services, LLC.

Faasuku Lutu, a former legislator in American Samoa, died Sunday. at Saint Francis Hospice at the age of 66. Lutu was born in Fagatogo, American Samoa, and lived in Hawaii until he graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1956. He represented American Samoa for 18 years in the House of Representatives.
