Something’s fishy on Father’s Day
NAWILIWILI — The Nawiliwili Yacht Club’s Annual Father’s Day Keiki Fishing Tournament will take place Sunday, June 20 at the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor. Registration is from 11:30 a.m. to noon at the Nawiliwili Yacht Club. The $5.00 entry fee includes a hot dog and a soda. Bring your bucket, pole and bait (gear not provided). Fishing ends at 2 p.m., prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.

Kaua‘i Cowboys lasso the Iron Dogs, 8-6
The Kaua‘i Cowboys continued its winning ways against O‘ahu Iron Dogs, 8-6 on June 12 held on O‘ahu.
With less than a minute to play in the game, Diego Fernandez broke loose in the end zone as Drew Kamana‘o fired a 35 yard bullet for 6 and hit Diego again for 2. By using different looks on offense and defense Andrew Kamana‘o, Diego Fernandez, Jacob Akaka, Harry Rivera, Kia Hale, Keoki Barrett, Reed Pantolingan, Joshua Banisian, Hilton Abreu (the only lineman) and the Ah Loo brothers Keoni, Marshall and Al, went the distance and set the Cowboys on the road to the State HFL playoffs. The Cowboys’ final 3 games will be played here with Kona this Saturday, June 19 at 6:30 pm at Vidinha, Maui on June 26 at Vidinha, and a special benefit game for Coach Kaui at Kapa’a Ball Park on July 3rd.
Geronimo flys for 22 against the T’wolves
Westside Hornet’s Vincent Geronimo found the hoop for 22 points to lead his team over the C-Town Timberwolves, 46-35.
Chad Koga paced the T’wolves with 10 points in the boys 14-and-under game on June 17 at Kalaheo Gym.
Tyrus Ceria-Lux continued his hot streak by putting up 23 points for the Kalaheo Pistons, who beat Wailua I, 44-30. Doctolero Curran netted nine points for Wailua in another boys 14-and-under game. Britney Yadao-Lanning led the Westside Hornets II squad with 10 points in a 25-20 win over the Kaua‘i Fire Raiders. Brandi Kohatsu led the Raiders with 11 points.
West Kaua‘i baseball championships today
The championship games for the West Kaua‘i Youth Baseball League happens today at 9 a.m. in Waimea.
The all-star selections for the bronco and mustang divisions will take place after the season.
