Elsie B. Burton of Kapa‘a, died on Feb. 22, 2004 at the age of 92 following a brief illness.
Mrs. Burton, formerly of Santa Barbara and Chatsworth, Calif., was born in Paris, France, on Feb. 13, 1912.
She moved to Kapa‘a in 1977, along with her late husband John Burton. She was known throughout the island for her involvement in numerous community activities.
She is survived by a son, Ronald F. (Nancy) Borge of Rowayton, Conn.; a daughter, Janet B. (Jim) Crowle of St. Michaels, Md.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for family and friends will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i, with visitation at 10 a.m.; service at 11 a.m. Internment to follow at the Lihue Cemetery. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Kauai Humane Society.
