Clinton Fujii drove in the tying and go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Hana Hou clinched the 2003 title of the county’s 35-Over softball league Thursday night at Isenberg Field.
Fujii finished with a pair of RBI on a single as Hana Hou kept their undefeated record intact while taking the title 5-4 over Braddahs who had to get past Pahio earlier in the evening to take on Hana Hou for the championship.
Brenn Nakaahiki ended the night with a pair of singles to lead the Hana Hou bats that saw nine batters get a hit each in the victory.
Paul Dasalia led the Braddahs in their title bid, finishing with a pair of RBI on a triple and a single with Derek Rapozo driving in a run on a pair of singles. DD Ibia ended the championship bid with a pair of singles, and five Braddahs had a hit each in the attempt.
Saulie Wong picked up the win for Hana Hou, allowing 11 hits while DD Ibia suffered the loss with 11 hits allowed.
DD Ibia was the workhorse in their earlier semi-final matchup as he drove in the winning run in the Braddahs’ 4-3 win over Pahio, the winning pitcher driving in a run on two singles in that win.
Sarge Palabay ended the night with two singles and six Braddahs had a hit each in the semi-final win.
DD Ibia also allowed 10 hits on a strikeout from the hill while Wayne Laranio suffered the loss with 10 hits allowed on a walk and a strikeout.
Jon Kahuanaele, Jay Kahuanaele, and Mike Aschenbrenner each finished with a pair of singles each to lead the Pahio bats.
