Hanapepe Caf and Espresso has reopened after two months of reconstruction with Andrea Pisciotti as the new owner/manager. Breakfast and lunch will be served Monday through Saturday and dinner on Friday evenings. Fish has been added to the menu with the focus remaining on vegetarian and health conscience choices. Open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday-Saturday. Friday dinner 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Andrea Pisciotti worked at Hanapepe Caf from 1995 until the doors closed on April 1, 2003. Andrea enjoyed the restaurant business and felt that the Caf was a real part of Hanapepe town. With this in mind she started delving into purchasing and running a restaurant. The soul searching came down to really wanting to keep the Caf open.
Andrea was encouraged and guided by her mother, Helen Lacono, who has a background in real estate. Purchasing the restaurant was final on May 1. Eight weeks of cleaning and construction followed.
The restaurant now seats 50 people and dinner reservations are needed. Andrea envisions a place where visitors and residents will come together finding local favorites and a comfortable atmosphere.
