Frank Rapozo
Frank Rapozo of Kalaheo died at Queen’s Medical Center on June 15, 2003 at the age of 85.
Born in Kauai on June 16, 1918, he was a retired supervisor for McBryde Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia A. Rapozo of Kalaheo; daughter, Barbara (Lawrence) Rego of Kalaheo; son, John F. Rapozo of Oahu; two brothers J. Stanley (Violet) Rapoza, of Oahu and Fulton (Lillian) Rapoza of Las Vegas; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 21, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Service will begin at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Hisashi Sugawara
Hisashi “Hy” Sugawara of Lihue, died in Honolulu on June 15, 2003 at the age of 81.
Born in Parker, Idaho on July 5, 1921, he was a retired dental supplies salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Hoshi Sugawara of Lihue; son, Alfred Sugawara of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Sandy Sugawara (Louis Levy), of Potomac, Maryland; brothers, Ken (Jane) Sugawara of North Carolina, Joe (Chiz) Sugawara of Hilo, Bill Sugawara of Chicago and 6 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 21, from 3 p.m. at the Lihue Christian Church 2943 Kress St. where services will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
