Hisashi Sugawara
Hisashi “Hy” Sugawara of Lihue, died in Honolulu on June 15, 2003 at the age of 81.
Born in Parker, Idaho on July 5, 1921, he was the semi-retired owner and director of Ace Hy International.
He is survived by his wife, Hoshi Sugawara of Lihue; son, Alfred Sugawara of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Sandy Sugawara (Louis Levy), of Potomac, Maryland; brothers, Ken (Jane) Sugawara of North Carolina, Joe (Chiz) Sugawara of Hilo, Bill Sugawara of Chicago and 6 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 21, from 3 p.m. at the Lihue Christian Church 2943 Kress St. where services will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Bill Reimers
Bill Reimers, 86, died June 14, 2003, in Kapaa, Kauai.
He was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Couer D’Alene, Idaho, and moved to Burbank in 1922. The owner of a men’s clothing store for many years, he was a graduate of Burbank High School and the University of Redlands. A veteran of World War II, he served with the United States Air Force in the South Pacific.
Preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Cynthia, and daughter-in-law, Annette, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kaye; children, Pamela, Bill and Rhonda; son-in-laws, Rick and Bill; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His ashes will be scattered in Hanalei on Wednesday, June 25.
Garden Island Mortuary is handling arrangements.
