A. Momilani Gampong-Yaris
A. Momilani Gampong-Yaris of Waimea, died at Queen’s Hospital on Mar. 28, 2003 at the age of 37.
Born in Waimea, on April 2, 1965, she was a teacher with Kekaha School and Proprietor/Entertainer of Kaleo Club International.
She is survived by her husband, Doric D. Yaris of Waimea,; son, DJ Kawaiola Yaris of Waimea,; parents, Pedro and Elaine Gampong of Kekaha; six brothers, Clyde Shintani of Las Vegas, NV, Gaylord Gampong of Kekaha, Peterlane Gampong of Kekaha, Waylon Blair of Honolulu, O’ahu, Hoku Keamoai of Las Vegas, Nev. and Brian Keamoai of Las Vegas; four sisters, Ku’uleimomi (Keoni) Martins of Kalaheo, Jolina (Jose) Felix-Keamoai of ‘Ele’ele, Joni Keamoai of Las Vegas, and Sanaida Pahulehua of Kekaha; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 5, 10 a.m. at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. A celebration of life to follow along with services officiated by Major Orion and Captain Fred Apuna. After the service the family requests your presence for fellowship at the Hanapepe Salvation Army, 4465 Puolo Road., next to the Hanapepe Ball Park. In lieu of wreaths or floral bouquets, the family requests a lei be brought to honor her memory.

Yuchi Shimabukuro
Yuchi “Bugsy” Shimabukuro of Wailua, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 29, 2003, at the age of 70.
Born in Waimea on Feb. 20, 1933, he was an engineer with GTE Hawaiian Tel.
He is survived by wife, Hiroye; son, Sterlyn (Nancy) Shimabukuro of Kapa’a; two daughters, Wendy (Ernest) Gonsalves of Kapa’a, and Denise Shimabukuro of Honolulu; three sisters, Masako Awakuni of Honolulu, Yoshiko Shimabukuro of Honolulu and Kimie Apaka of Lihu’e; 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion. Service officiated by Rev. Edwin Terui will begin at 10 a.m. Followed by interment. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

John C. Rapozo
John C. Rapozo of Kapa’a died at his residence on March 31, 2003, at the age of 86.
Born in Kapa’a, on April 21, 1916, he was an office manager for Hawaiian Tel.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Rapozo, he is survived by two daughters: Marie Waters of California; Patricia Bussard of Indiana; two sons: Patrick (Evelyn) Rapozo of Calif. and Russell Rapozo of Georgia; one sister: Virginia Souza, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 8, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Faithmarie Kay
Faithmarie Kay of Koloa, Hawai’i, died on May 29, 2003, at the age of 75.
Born in Greenbay, Wisconsin on April 7, 1927, she was a fashion designer under the label FAITHMARIE. She was dedicated to and served her church as Secretary to Father Gordy of Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo for 8 years.
Preceded in death by her son: Hogan Kay. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Kay of Koloa; son, Jim Kay of Parker, Arizona; hanai children, Kevin and Karla Anderson of Oma’o, Tracy and Rich Minero of Waimea; hanai grandchildren, Kai Kane and Kalei Anderson.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 14, 4 p.m. at Pacific Missile Range Facility in “Shenanigan’s” Those planning to attend MUST RSVP by Tuesday, April 8, to Karla at 742-2634. To get clearance through security at the military base. The military will not allow anyone not on the guest list.
Casual attire is suggested, flowers omitted. Donations may be made to the Hawaii Cancer Society.
