5th Lights on Rice St.

One Hawaiian Snowman surrounded by a bevy of people from Midpac Auto Sales and the Kaua’i Junior Bowlers organizations towered above the field of red-clad paraders at the Lights on Rice parade in Lihu’e Friday night.

This is the 5th year for the parade that, this year, showcased about forty floats and marching units from community businesses and organizations. The parade is made possible through the generous support of Young Brothers and numerous people from the County of Kaua’i.

The Big Save featuring employees from their stores islandwide as well as the Kaua’i Kookie company brightened up the night skies. And what is a parade without the beauty queens, as the Tiny, Little, and Young Miss Kaua’i greet the thousands along with this year’s field of candidates aboard the Sophisticated You float.
